22/02/2012 · When I bought my Gaggia Classic about 8 years ago I was told to use the Gaggia descaler, which was 3 packets of 30gm tartaric acid. This has been discontinued, and the current Gaggia descaler is a bottle of liquid and one use only.
- I also found that I need to remove the fine filter where the coffee is pumped out to remove the gasket seal and clean all of the above, I was lazy and neglected my Gaggia for about 6 months and after a couple years the solenoid pump died.
